Q: Is this shot put legal for college and open competition?
A: Yes. In fact, 16lb shots meet NCAA, USATF, and World Athletic standards except the cast iron shot, which is recommended for training only.

Q: What’s the best shot diameter to choose?
A: It depends on hand size and throwing technique. Larger hands may prefer bigger diameters; smaller hands benefit from compact options for grip. However, most throwers prefer at least 125mm, but we have options as smaller diameter options.
